Relax in Nature, Indulge at Tasmania’s Saffire Freycinet
Saffire Freycinet features 20 luxurious suites decorated with a mix of traditional and contemporary furnishings highlighted by Tasmanian timber
Taking its design inspiration from the peninsula on which it sits, the Saffire Freycinet is a modern luxury getaway surrounded by Australia’s breathtaking natural beauty. It’s located on Tasmania’s East Coast and overlooks the Hazards Mountains, Freycinet Peninsula and Great Oyster Bay. With top-end accommodations, locally-sourced dining and fantastic side trips, Saffire Freycinet promises a vacation focused on a guest’s well-being and relaxation.
The resort features 20 luxurious suites decorated with a mix of traditional and contemporary furnishings highlighted by Tasmanian timber. Bespoke beds, iPod music systems, and double showers and bathtubs keep the suites plush and comfortable. Suite accommodation packages are all-inclusive and encompass breakfast, lunch, dinner, beverages, minibar items and spa credits.
Treatments at Spa Saffire begin with personal consultations that give a comprehensive overview of massages, scrubs, hydrating body cocoons, facials and waxing. Several treatments, including a massage, facial, and scalp treatment, are designed especially for men and use the Vagheggi Ligne Homme line. Other products used during treatments were created specifically for the Saffire Freycinet.
When it comes to dining, Executive Chef Hugh Whitehouse has prepared multi-course degustation menus designed around the daily catch or what’s fresh from the paddock. Courses are paired with top local wines. Palate Restaurant also takes special orders for tailor-made meals. The Lounge offers a luxury environment in which to relax with a good book or enjoy a pre-dinner drink while watching the sunset.
Side trips, called “experiences” at Saffire Freycinet, include complimentary tours of a working oyster farm (waders included, natch,) a two hour guided walk to Wineglass Lookout, wine tasting, canoeing, archery, mountain biking and more. Signature experiences are available at an additional fee and range from a half-day sailing trip to Schouten Island complete with morning tea service to quad bike tours to the southern Friendly Beaches in Freycinet National Park. In addition, the resort can arrange for adventures aboard a seaplane over rivers, lakes and rainforests.
